We are stoked that you're reading this because it means that you're taking an interest in the improvement of the Asheville Music Scene. We sure could use your help!
If you're wondering who we are and what we do, here's some background information on the organization and its mission. A little more than 2 years ago, Jess Tomasin, manager at Echo Mountain studios, started gathering some folks to begin talking about how to make the Asheville Music scene better. If you live here, you know that Asheville boasts one of the deepest talent pools in the country. From Techno to Funk and Bluegrass to Rock n roll, you can find it all here in spades. But, it's not just players, it's very seriously talented players. Catering to this massive pool of musicians are all kinds of other folks; venue owners, music stores, luthiers, booking agents, managers, publicists, music writers, production staff like sound and light techs, and more. AMP wants to connect all of these folks, collaborate with them to improve working environments and streamline communication amongst all parties, and advocate for a stronger and more unified music scene that ideally attracts more viable industry to the area.
